A nominal area choropleth map is a specific choropleth map that represenrs nominal data in a simple way so it is easy to read the map. The map provided shows which states during the 2004 Presidential Election were swing states and which states were either republican or democrat. The information is displayed through 3 different colors making it easy to understand. By making these easy distinctions through color, this map could be considered a nominal area choropleth map.
