Thematic maps give the ability to decipher different kinds of information and detail.  These maps highlights or depicts a specific topic or theme.  These maps are common in representing population densities, weather conditions, and geologic maps.  Represented in this map is the continent of Australia with its surrounding Maritime Boundaries.  It uses colors and lines to show the deferent maritime zones.
