Stem and leaf plots are similar to that of a histogram in that they are a device for representing quantitative data in a graphical format. They do this through a visualization of two different categories (Stem and leaf). The example above shows both the stem which represents the first part of a number and the leaf which represents the second part of the number. This stem and leaf plot specifically shows the distribution of quiz scores when the stem number and leaf number are combined in order. By having both a stem category and leaf category we can consider this example a stem and leaf plot.
