Known as the Public Land Survey System, a PLSS map is used as a cadastral map which is designed to assist in identifying land ownership between different areas.  This map is an example of a standardized PLSS map that is statewide.  This maps information shows 30 public domain states.  By using a PLSS map people can find different land ownership information in different regions, making it a very useful map.
